Numeralla Folk Festival

*** Latest event details are yet to be confirmed ***
Numeralla Folk Festival is affectionately referred to as the Folkies Festival. Each year musicians and others gather to celebrate music, song, poetry and dance while they relax in the campground at the junction of the Numeralla and Badja Rivers in the picturesque and peaceful village of Numeralla.

The Festival is free. There is no charge for camping or tickets. Accommodation is strictly camping although if you prefer a motel there are plenty available in nearby Cooma.

Just across the river is the Numeralla Diggers Hall where festival goers can enjoy cooked meals, snacks and endless cups of tea and homemade cakes.

There is a barbecue and a very friendly bar. On Sunday, Numeralla Markets will feature craft and produce stalls and a Trash and Treasure stall with fresh food and great bargains

Musicians gather for sessions on the veranda of the hall or in the supper room.

This Festival is balm for the soul. 1983 and I had to fly to The Old Country to visit my terminally ill old Mum. I had been "collecting" folk songs while there. On my last night before catching the plane back to Australia, I was robbed at gun-point, got interrogated by a huge detective and flew to Sydney, caught a coach to Canberra, and went straight to Numeralla, where I was asked to sing 2, and then a 3rd humorous song a capella. I had a badge that read "Ageing Hippie". A fellow tapped my badge and said, "Snap!" His badge read, "HELP! I am lost! Please return me to 1967". Report Abuse183
