TAB Saddle-Up Sundays Ballina Jockey Club Iris Nielsen Invitational Race Day

This special Saddle-Up Sunday is all about the ladies! Celebrating female jockeys, the 110 year old Ballina Jockey Club will be pulling out all stops for the fifth anniversary of the Iris Neilson Ladies Invitational raceday on 29 January 2012. World famous jockey Julie Krone will be jetting in from California to help celebrate this memorable race day. Iris Neilson was a pioneer for women jockeys and sadly lost her life in a fall in 1988. To commemorate her contribution to NSW Racing Ballina Jockey Club invite current female jockeys to take part in a $50,000 feature race, the Iris Neilson Ladies Invitational. At the conclusion of the race day three young jockeys will join the ranks of Iris Nielson and be inducted into the Ballina Jockey Club Lady Jockeys Hall of Fame. It’s all about girl power - so ladies make tracks and head to Ballina Jockey Club. While the lady jockeys are riding their way to success down the straight, the fabulous fillies at the track have their chance to take out the fashion stakes. The 2012 Fashions-on-the-Field will celebrate classic summertime racewear and there will be some fantastic prizes on offer. If you would like participate in TAB Saddle-Up Sundays
